To around 6 KM from Cirella, we find the commune of Saint Maria of the Cedar. It is situated to the inferior extremity of the Plain one of the Lao, next to the rivers Lao and Abatemarco, on the shore of the Tyrrhenian, between the coastal communes of Scalea and Diamond. The complex medioevale of S.Michele is set on a rocky costone, in proximity of the river Abatemarco, along the provincial road that brings to the archaeological excavations of the plain one of Lao from S.Maria of the Cedar.
